One in four employers plan pay rise for HR and recruiters
Just 10% of HR and recruitment professionals expect to get a pay rise this year – but bosses may be more generous than workers think.
Almost a quarter of UK firms are planning to give pay rises to their business support workers, while HR managers, HR business partners and recruitment consultants are among the most sought-after professionals in the sector
These are some of the findings from an annual Salary Survey 2021, which surveyed 2,000 working professionals and reviewed 100,000 job roles advertised in the UK over a 12-month period.
The survey reveals that half of recruiters and HR staff are looking to change their job this year, and half are confident about job opportunities within the sector. The average rate of retention for business support professionals is just 1.7 years, indicating employers still have much work to do to address retention rates.
Within the business support sector, roles for Marketing Managers have experienced the biggest increase in demand (+4%), attracting an average salary of £36,910. Human Resources Managers enjoyed the second biggest increase in demand (+2.3%), with an average salary of £42,215, followed by Human Resources Business Partners (+1.4%, £45,910).
