In the job you do, have you asked yourself the question......... WHY ❓❔
A thought provoking post form our Associate Director; Peter Evans:
It's a question all of us should ask ourselves. WHY do we do what we do? In particular, why do we do the work that, for many of us, occupies most of our waking hours for our entire adult lives?
As Waldo once said:
"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well."
That thought may feel warm and fuzzy, but the question remains: Why do we do the work we do?
✴ Why are we doing that task
✴ Why get involved in that project
✴ Why spend those extra hours working at your desk
✴ Why does the outcome matter
As human beings, we're wired to connect, and part of purpose is serving others or serving the greater good, something outside of us that allows us to feel more connected.
✳ We want to to part of something that is bigger than ourselves, have a sense or purpose and achievement whilst serving our moral compass, and to reach our inner goals.
This now leads onto my pitch; are you in a Recruitment position and starting to ask yourself............. WHY
Feel like you no longer have a purpose, or share the same moral values, or even feel like your dedication/commitment/achievements are not recognised
DO NOT allow yourself to be a shadow of the person you once was
Be fulfilled and serve the right purpose. Love the job you do
